Somehow, the two experts who designed this “independent” program have both either served as advisors or consultants to Merck and a number of other drug companies. It’s practically marketing material cooked up by the Big Pharma sales team - and maybe that’s what it is, at least on some level, since it was “supported” by an “independent educational grant” from Merck. It’s not a pros-and-cons look at cholesterol and the latest science that shows how LDL control is overblown and exaggerated… and it’s not an objective risks-benefits analysis of LDL medication that includes the REAL chance the meds can give your patients diabetes.
This is a “legitimate” program that gives docs “Continuing Medical Education” credit, something that’s required in many places in order to keep a medical license and/or hospital access.īut it’s completely ILLEGITIMATE by just about any other reasonable measure! If you want to see the proof for yourself, just take a peek at the latest “education program” on cholesterol. It’s wormed its way into what your doctor knows and learns, and it has done it so completely and so effectively that he probably has NO CLUE what’s going on! The industry is INSIDE your doctor’s BRAIN! It’s taken over something even more important than treatment guidelines (which they’ve been secretly writing for years). The pharmaceutical industry has quietly seized control over medicine, and in the most insidious way possible. I don’t do politics… and I don’t care about most politicians.
